BACKGROUND

The International Conference on Biochemistry 2026 (ICB2026) is a premier global event that brings together scientists, researchers, industry professionals, and young innovators to explore the expanding frontiers of biochemical science. As the world navigates complex challenges in health, agriculture, climate, food security, and sustainable development, biochemistry continues to play a transformative role in generating new knowledge, technologies, and solutions. ICB2026 provides a dynamic platform for presenting research breakthroughs, exchanging ideas, and building collaborations that shape the future of this evolving discipline.

Hosted by the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia, the conference is guided by the theme “Advancement of Biochemistry for a Sustainable Future.” This theme reflects our commitment to fostering scientific progress that supports global sustainability goals and enhances the well-being of communities worldwide.

ICB2026 features six major scientific tracks that highlight the diversity and impact of modern biochemistry. These tracks include Plant and Algae Biochemistry, Medicinal Biochemistry, Environmental Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Enzyme and Structural Biochemistry, Food Biochemistry, and Industrial Biotechnology. Together, they represent critical areas of research that contribute to medical discoveries, ecological resilience, food innovation, renewable resources, and sustainable industrial processes.

Across three enriching days, participants will experience inspiring keynote presentations delivered by renowned experts, thought-provoking plenary sessions, and engaging oral and poster presentations showcasing the latest scientific advancements. ICB2026 is designed to create a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment where researchers can connect, share expertise, and form meaningful collaborations that accelerate scientific discovery and technological innovation.

Join us in the beautiful city of Putrajaya from 18 to 20 August 2026 and be part of a global community dedicated to advancing biochemical research for a more sustainable, healthy, and resilient future.
